There is no set amount that you need to spend that will guarantee your business success. In the beginning of starting a business. It is best to focus on spending money on income generating activities. In other words, activities with a return on investment. 

One of the important things to remember is to first work on a business plan even if it’s just a simple spreadsheet. If you like things organized like I do try Trello.   

This post will identify 10 apps/tools to help you get started in no time. Majority of them are FREE

Now disclaimer it will still be challenging but there are ways to get it done. 

  1. Hatchful
    Hatchful by Shopify is a free online logo maker for businesses. What makes Hatchful so cool is they create Social Media images and give a transparent logo.  This will work just fine until you determine where your business is going and who your target market is.
    I made the mistake of spending alot of money on a logo & biz cards when I first started my business that I never really used because once I got up and running it just didn’t represent my brand.
  2. Canva
    Let me start off by saying Canva is bae. Canva provides and easy-to-use photo editor where you can change the look of your image using settings that include filters, tint, brightness, and more. Use Canva to develop your Brand Colors.  All graphics and will be produced in these colors. You want people to think of your brand when they see these colors. I have created graphics for posts, workbooks, speaker packets, journals, YOU NAME IT in Canva. ALL for FREE 99. Quick Note: Read the licensing agreement. 
  3. NameCheap
    Name Cheap does exactly what the name implies. While they are not free, they are very inexpensive.  Use them to search & purchase your domain. Claim your domain  expeditiously, don’t wait.  I prefer Namecheap over Godaddy because they are cheaper annually and offer a life time membership with free WhoisGuard, which masks the identity of domain owners. 
  4. Google Workplace (G-Suite)
    Google Workplace cloud-native collaboration and productivity apps powered by Google Artificial Intelligence. The benefit of Google Workplace are for $6/month you can conduct business with a professional email using the domain you purchased earlier and it will be delivered to your Google inbox. To create additional aliases for your business upgrade to $12/month
  5. Stessa
    Stessa is FREE accounting software for real estate investors with rental properties. I use Stessa to manage my rental properties. It allows you to track all transactions and categorize them. Connect your bank accounts for automation. 
  6. Google Voice 
    Google Voice is a FREE voicemail service from Google that enables users to send free text messages, customize their voicemail, read voicemail text transcript, and more. You can create a second number for your business and download the app and get the calls directly to your phone. Create a greeting for your business and be sure to turn off the call screening. 
  7. Wave
    Wave is a FREE invoicing and accounting software for start up. Please use this software from the beginning to keep track of all your expenses and sales. This will make life much easier when you seek the services of an accountant. It will also help you during tax time and to keep accurate records and financial statements for your business. 
  8. Wix 
    Wix is a free Here is a list of website builders so you can compare. I think this feature depends on the type of business you open. Most websites will charge you to use your own domain and to accept payments FYI. If you plan to open an ecommerce store I recommend Shopify
  9. Novo
    Novo is a online bank to use for your business bank account. After obtaining your LLC and EIN one of your next steps is to obtain a business banking account so that you can separate your funds. I highly recommend operating out of a separate bank account even before you can officially get a business bank account. The great part about Novo is they don’t have any monthly fees or minimum balance requirements, offer free ACH Transfers, and unlimited ATM fee refunds.
